Tempe Arizona Real Estate
About 1865, after the building of Fort McDowell, families settled and farmed around Tempe Butte, later founding the town of San Pablo. West of the butte, a businessman built a settlement that became known as Hayden’s Ferry. The two fledgling colonies quickly grew together, and the town, which had become known as Tempe, became the business and shipping center for the area. Continuing to grow until reaching its current boundaries in 1974, that small agricultural community has developed into the exciting, active, and multi-faceted “intellectual property capital of the state”: the contemporary, cosmopolitan City of Tempe, Arizona.
